East Sussex dream-pop outfit Korda Korder are fast becoming one of the UK’s most captivating new acts. With their haunting blend of shimmering guitars, swirling synths, and vocals that drift like a voice from another world, the band are carving out a sound that feels both nostalgic and startlingly fresh. Korda Korder crafts a soundscape rich in dream-pop and indie atmosphere, weaving melancholic vocals over swaying guitars and synths. Their style evokes the nostalgic and otherworldly energies of Alvvays, Beach House, and Lana Del Rey, while also carrying a touch of retro-surreal charm reminiscent of Joe Meek’s production techniques. Their debut single “What Have You Done” immediately turned heads when it appeared as a limited SoundCloud release, catching the attention of tastemakers across the UK. Early champions included John Kennedy (Radio X), Huw Stephens and Steve Lamacq (BBC Radio 6), the latter describing the track as “irresistible”. With its beguilingly simple melody, aching lyrics and a sound that falls somewhere between Alvvays and vintage Joe Meek, it quickly earned the band a reputation for crafting music that’s at once chilling, warm, and deeply affecting.
